Summer 2013-our first few days

The kids got out of school on Wednesday, May 29th and it has been a whirlwind since then.  We have had a multitude of injuries, worked on many, many projects, and managed to break the kitchen sink, the washer, and the sink in the kids' bathroom.

Here is a photo of our 2 youngest....I love this photo...they are FILTHY and it is so them....(we do bathe them but they little boys and they get dirty 5 minutes after getting out of the shower-lol).  A friend modified this photo for us a bit...she says that they look like Tom Saywer and Huck Finn here :)

The kids hadn't even been home an hour from the last day of school when our youngest son broke a glass and our youngest daughter cut her foot on it before we could even clean it up.  The next morning, our youngest son somehow got a cut between his toes and it started bleeding.

He didn't shed a tear, but when Tammy told him she wanted to take a picture of it he plopped his dirty little foot right out.  Then he put on his "fake crying" face....

Sawyer then got poison ivy...Tammy wanted me to post that picture too, but it is just gross.

Sawyer then dropped a board on his foot when he was "building."
He was also "helping" me paint the fence....although he painted his leg instead.

We had our first campfire of the year and roasted marshmallows and hot dogs.

Robert read the kids a story.

And doesn't our 13 year old daughter look thrilled to spend the summer with her younger siblings???

The kids have eaten LOTS of popsicles.....

We have spent lots of time with our goats....

This is a photo of our 2 "adult" boys; Eddie and Romeo.

Jack insists on running on our pallet walkway and got his knee....

(no fake crying this time)

We have spent lots of time on and around our big front porch.

All I can say is THANK GOD I get to go to work and my girl stays at home with them...I love them all so dearly but there is no way that I could do it 24/7.

Here is a photo of her that I took yesterday in her "look" that I love the most.

Next blog will likely be of the many, many projects that we have in progress.

Happy Summer!!!!

  1. Is there any way you could make the photos bigger? It's hard to see the details which are, I have no doubt, delightful! Thanks! - Priscilla

  2. I love your family and that porch. All of that chaos just feels. well. like mine. only my animals are my children. :)
That black and white picture needs to be printed and framed. LOVE IT.

I hate that I can't see your pictures big. They come up so small....I'd really like to get a closer look at the look on your wife's face. :)

Thanks for blogging. I've missed hearing from you guys !
